First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MasterControl.
Software Engineer
Complete waste of time. Don't bother. 3 rounds were a complete waste. No interviewer knew what was discussed in the previous round. They play favorites. The job description lists every skill imaginable and they expect you to know them all.
- Can you tell me about your resume?
- What are your thoughts on UI?
- What about the backend?
Software Engineer
This process is a mess. There are too many people involved. It felt like there were multiple phone interviews and scheduling attempts, plus an online tech assessment. The onsite interview involved a panel of the dev team and a coding test in an IDE. After that, there were more 1:1 interviews. A lot of it was just going over my resume. The people themselves were nice, but they really need to fix this flawed process. They should give the stakeholders the power to make hiring decisions. At the very least, they should get everyone in the same room.
- What are some standard interview questions you've encountered?
Software Engineer
The interview process includes a hiring manager video interview and a technical interview. The hiring manager round is 15 minutes long and will focus on behavioral questions related to your resume and past experiences. The technical round is 45 minutes with team members asking technical questions.
