Project Manager
So I had this initial chat with the recruiter, then it was like three more rounds all in one week. The first was with the hiring manager, then two PMs from a different team, and finally the hiring manager again with another manager from a different team. They wanted to see how I handled things technically, solved problems, and if I'd fit in.
- Can you tell me about a situation where you foresaw an issue and acted to stop or lessen it?
Project Manager
The whole thing took about a month. First, there was a recruiter pre-screen, then a virtual chat with the hiring manager. After that, I had two more virtual meetings, one with management from other departments and another with coworkers. The last step was a final phone call with the recruiter, but they were really hard to get a hold of.
- Given that Waterfall vs Agile previously failed, how would you handle the company's perspective on adopting it as its Project Management methodology?
- Regarding this position, what do you consider the most critical activity for a Project Manager?
Project Manager
It started with a phone screening interview with an HR rep. I was then brought on-site to meet with a number of people on the team. There was some additional back & forth email contact with the hiring manager as well as follow-up from HR. Every person I interacted with, whether on the phone, via email, or in person, was extremely receptive, thoughtful and very encouraging. I came away from each interaction with a very positive impression of the company and team.
- Is implementing an Agile framework more of an art or a science?
