Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MassMutual.
Intern
The interview lasted the whole day, with 3 rounds in total. It felt like only employee referrals get selected, which is a bummer. I regret waiting 9 hours straight without any food.
- Could you answer some basic questions about SQL?
- Could you answer some basic questions about Python?
Intern
It was a 3 round process. The first round was a group discussion with 20 members, and they selected 8 to 10 people from it. The second round was a technical interview related to my major, and also project-related questions and questions based on my resume.
- Tell us about gender inequality in today's society.
Intern
I interviewed twice for this role at different locations. The first time, I was a freshman and it was my first intern interview, so I didn't do very well. The interview was pretty straightforward, covering my resume and behavioral questions. The second time was different; instead of applying, I was invited for a two-day training session at the office. They taught us the basics of the job, and offers were extended based on how well we grasped the concepts and showed interest. This training also gave me a chance to learn about the company culture by asking questions, and honestly, it left me with a bad feeling about the company. Just a heads-up, this second interview experience was unusual, and I'm not sure if it's typical for other branches.
- What are your long-term career aspirations over the next decade?
- What motivated your interest in this particular industry?
