Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MassMutual.
Financial Planner
The interviewers were really friendly. They're looking to train people who don't have any experience. It's a commission-based position, so there's no salary. They do offer training, and you'll need to use your connections with family and friends to start getting clients.
- Can you tell me about your sales experience?
Financial Planner
It was a two-part process. First, a phone call, then a Zoom interview. I felt like it was set up for failure though. They wanted too many hours per week and I'm not really interested in trying to sell insurance from scratch.
- Can you start by telling us a little about yourself?
- Do you think you could build up a client list of 200 people?
- How good are you at getting referrals?
Financial Representative
The interview process mainly consisted of my asking questions to the recruiter, but also with some general questions about parts of my resume. They were mainly looking to see that I had researched the company and that I was able to communicate effectively, and after the interview there was a follow up with personality questions to evaluate whether or not I was a good fit for the position.
