First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Massimo Dutti.
HR Business Partner
I was contacted via Linkedin, then by email, and they organized an interview. The video call lasted about 40 minutes and was super informal and warm. The interview started with the talent acquisition introducing themselves, and then they let me introduce myself. Many questions followed about my current job to go into more depth. The HR Business Partner position has a significant talent component.
- Regarding a search for a creative vacancy, what company would be your source for candidates for Massimo Dutti?
- For a creative vacancy for Massimo Dutti, in which luxury company would you find candidates?
Department Manager
I applied for a job at Massimo Dutti in Gothenburg/ Sweden and got a text message shortly after. Communication was iffy, with unanswered messages. We tried to set up an interview while I was traveling, but it never happened even though we agreed on a date. I called a few times and was ignored. When I got back, I went to the store and had an informal meeting over coffee. The manager mostly talked about themselves and their connection to the store. They said they'd update me by noon, but I didn't hear back until after 5 PM. I was then invited for a second interview, which felt more like a test than a genuine consideration. The vibe wasn't welcoming, and I didn't feel they were serious about hiring me. After that, I heard nothing about my application. The process was unprofessional, disorganized, and disrespectful of my time. Glad I didn't get the job.
- Can you describe a challenging situation and how you handled it?
- In your opinion, what is our best-selling product?
- What information do you have about our company?
Marketing Manager
The interview was professional and well-structured, focused on understanding my vision and the value I could bring. The questions were interesting and covered topics about brand identity, brand evolution, and customer perception.
- Which brands do you think inspire us?
- What do you think our customers value?
- Can you provide ideas on how to improve what's already being done?
Sales Associate
Some think certain interview questions are outdated and shouldn't be used. But I think interviews, at their core, are conversations. Even frequently asked questions can set a conversational tone, revealing a candidate's education level, tolerance, and stress resilience. If a candidate seems bored by standard questions, it signals disrespect for the interviewer's time and poor manners. For in-person interviews, I'd conduct a brief 10-minute formal interview and conclude. It's important to respect the process and not overcomplicate what's already established.
- What can you tell me about our company?
- Can you share an instance where you struggled to solve a problem initially?
- How do you approach making significant decisions?
