Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mass General Brigham.
Executive Assistant
I had a phone screen with a recruiter in CA, then two in-person interviews. There was a 6-week gap between my first and second in-person interviews. After the final in-person interview, the job was re-posted. I didn't get a response when I asked if I was still being considered. I found it unprofessional not to inform candidates of their status after three interviews, which I think reflects the company culture.
- What's your approach to prioritizing tasks?
Administrative Assistant
It was a pretty standard interview process. I met with the person I would be supporting, and we just chatted about my resume and how I could help them out. They offered me the job with a sign-on bonus pretty quickly. I asked if the bonus could be added to my salary instead, and they rescinded the offer. Kind of weird, because I would have taken it if they just said no, but maybe it's for the best.
- Can you tell me about your previous day-to-day responsibilities and how those skills could be useful in this role?
Administrative Assistant
Applied and about a month later got an interview with HR on the phone. Then got an in person interview. Was told to prepare a few things (things I found interesting on their website). I got an offer within a few days. Start date was depending on which orientation I was able to attend.
- Tell me about how you handle stress.
