Behavioral Coding

I applied via LinkedIn. First, a recruiter called me and then scheduled a technical interview with the hiring manager. During this interview, we mostly talked about my background, and then at the very end, I was asked to do some coding. The coding question was pretty easy if you understand runtime and basic data structures. This whole process confirmed what I feared from reading employee reviews about the company requiring employees to be fully onsite and expecting weekend work, not just for emergencies, plus potential management issues.

Technical Behavioral

I applied online and then got an interview invitation. During the interview, the manager exhibited xenophobic behavior, showing a clear bias against hiring foreigners, particularly those from non-EU countries, regardless of their qualifications. It seemed ethnicity was his primary concern, reminiscent of the sentiment against the new prime minister's Indian origins, where a preference for a white leader was expressed. This attitude, unfortunately common in the UK, contrasts with the generosity often shown to Brits in Arabic countries, where many find lucrative employment opportunities they wouldn't secure at home. That's the reality of the world today.

  • Have you had experience working with Linux?
