First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at martinwolf M&A Advisors.
Analyst
It started with a basic recruiter call. Then, I had a take-home assignment where I had to build an accretive/dilutive merger model. After that, there were two 1-on-1 interviews. One was pretty standard, just a get-to-know-you chat about my background. The other was more technical, with about 5-6 questions, and we also reviewed my homework.
- What are the four main valuation methods?
- Could you explain your take-home assignment?
- Can you tell me about yourself and your experience?
Investment Banking Analyst
after sending a cold email, I was contacted by an admin. Then, there were two video interviews back to back. I followed up a week after the interviews and got an offer the next day. It wasn't very technical; they seemed more interested in my personality.
- Why are you interested in Martin Wolf?
Associate
The process involved a phone screen with admin/HR, a phone interview and 3 or 4 following Skype/in-person interviews. Most staff were cordial and asked the usual questions about experience. Martin, who runs the shop and put his name on the wall, was abrasive and seemed more interested with pressuring responses so he could get on with his day. Not a good sign and I could tell he would be a difficult leader to work under.
- Can you describe your previous work experiences?
- What is your estimate for the number of barbershops in Chicago?
SFDC Data Entry Analyst
Applied online, got a call back for a phone interview. The phone interview was brief, they told me about the job and asked about my experience. Then I had an in-person interview with two people who would be my direct supervisors, and also an interview with the office manager.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and how it relates to this role?
