First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Martin Retail Group.
Account Coordinator
I had a phone call with HR, and then an in-person interview with two managers. It was a pretty fast process, and the people were nice and professional.
- Tell me about your knowledge of GM brands.
Account Executive
It was a pretty typical interview process. I had a phone interview first, then met with three people in person. I felt pretty at ease pretty fast and they let me know a few days later about the offer and when I'd start.
- How well do you collaborate with others on a team?
Broadcast Traffic Coordinator
The interview was held in a comfortable, private room. It started with some personality-based questions and inquiries about my experience in the broadcast industry. It was mostly a 'tell me about a time when...' type of interview. After we talked about my past work and personal life, we went into more detail about the business and discovered some mutual acquaintances. I'm not sure if knowing people in common helped me get the job, but I think it gave the interviewers a better sense of whether I'd fit in with their team.
- How do you handle stressful situations?
- Can you describe a situation where you had to manage stress?
- What experience do you have in the broadcast industry?
Media Buyer
The recruiter is not great at keeping you in the loop. You get set up to interview with an executive, manager, etc., and once the interview is done, you never hear anything back, even if you didn't get the job. They don't email you to update you after the interview.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced failure?
- What would your previous employer say about you if I contacted them?
