Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marshalls.
Sales Associate
The interviewer was super organized and nice. The whole thing was only 10 minutes and really easy. They asked me why I wanted to work there, if I had any retail experience, and what I knew about the company.
- What is your understanding of Marshall's?
- Tell me about your previous retail experience.
- Why are you interested in this role at our company?
Sales Associate
It was a really good experience, lasting a bit over thirty minutes, but it felt fast because the manager was super friendly. She asked formal questions, but we also had casual chats, so it was pretty relaxed. Just make sure you have some solid customer service examples ready because you'll need them a few times. They also ask a lot about teamwork.
- Could you describe a team project you were part of and your specific contribution?
- How did you manage to complete a project or task with a tight deadline?
- Tell me about an instance where you had to perform physically demanding tasks at work.
Sales Associate
I had my first interview and it went well, then I had another interview with a manager who seemed pretty uninterested. She asked me what role I wanted, which felt like I didn't have a choice, and when I said 'whatever is fine,' she didn't seem happy with that.
- Can you tell me about your availability during the week?
