I did a video recording interview where I had to answer questions. A lot of the questions seemed pretty standard for a first interview, though a few didn't quite seem to fit the job I applied for. Then I got called in for an in-person interview. I was pretty surprised to find out during that interview that I was actually interviewing for two different positions, neither of which matched the job description from the posting. I was really disappointed with how misleading the advertisement was. I didn't get an offer for either job, and I definitely don't plan on applying for any other roles with this company because they seem to use the same job description for all their Staff Accountant openings.

The first interaction was actually via phone when I was waiting for an important family call and mistakenly answered it. I wasn't looking for roles nor had been applying anywhere. If the call had not come from the actual company's internal HR recruiter who informed me she was asked to contact me directly (versus a random headhunter), I would have said I'm late and to email me. She discussed a higher level role that would give me starting responsibilities I would otherwise not see for a couple years (per current co minimum time rules). I then had two in-person interviews with the hiring manager and then a formal phone call then written offer from the HR person who first called me.

They were really thoughtful about scheduling, offering available slots for me to pick from, which was great for my schedule. The first chat was about 15 minutes, super friendly, made sure I got the job details and felt at ease. The second interview was longer and more focused on technical stuff, but they kept it relaxed so it felt natural. The whole thing was detailed and they explained everything, making sure I could ask anything I needed to.
