I was first reached out to by HR in the department because of my prior work with them. They suggested I apply for this new role. After I applied online, Marriott's recruiters reached out and scheduled a phone interview. During the call, they asked me standard situational questions based on my past experiences and why I'd be a good fit for the job. Then, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager for the position. Although it seemed like I was sure to get an offer during the interview, the recruiter was slow to get back to me with an offer. I had to check in with the hiring manager, who mentioned the delay was due to slow reference checks.
