I had a Zoom interview with a few people. It was pretty relaxed and didn't last too long, under an hour. I don't recall any major surprises. I didn't ask too many questions myself.

I applied and had a screener interview. I haven't heard back about a second interview though. The interviewers were really nice and gave me a good sense of what the work at the firm would be like, including billable hours and other details.

It was kinda long, you meet with 4 managers. The first interview is online. The second manager goes over your online answers. The third manager asks the same questions as the second manager, plus other basic questions like 'why do you want to work here' and 'what can you contribute to the CarMax brand?'. The fourth manager just asks you situational questions, like 'how have you worked in a team environment in a past job?'. The whole interview process took about 2-3 hours, but it felt really comfortable. They said 'we'll let you know within the week', and two days later I got a call to come in on Monday. They offered me the job immediately and I had to take a drug test and schedule my orientation date.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Tell me about a time you worked in a team.
  • Why are you interested in this role?
  • What skills do you bring to CarMax?

Got set up through a recruiter. First was with Patricia Moreland, the managing partner. Standard stuff about past jobs and what I'm looking for. Then, another interview with Patricia and two other partners. It was pretty chill, going over my resume and seeing if I was interested. Oh, they mentioned the 2200 hour billable requirement for associates.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • How many depositions have you handled, both taking and defending?
  • What's your experience with arbitrations?
  • Tell me about your previous work experience.
