MarkLogic Software Engineer Interview Questions

I got referred by a current employee for the Software Engineer -- Server (New Grad) position. The interview process involved two technical phone interviews and then an onsite interview. The phone interviews covered fundamental CS topics like databases, operating systems, and C++, along with some easy coding problems. The onsite interview was more extensive, with eight rounds that included basic CS knowledge, object-oriented design, system design, and QA. As a master's student in computer science, I wasn't expecting system design and QA questions. However, the interviewers were really helpful, discussing the problems and guiding me towards the right solutions. This was one of my best interview experiences out of over 30 companies because the people were so nice and friendly. The manager even asked how to pronounce my name at the start of the first interview, which made me feel very respected. I highly recommend interviewing with MarkLogic! Also, the onsite included a lunch session focused on my resume, background, and behavioral questions.

I got a call for a job I didn't even apply for. The recruiter asked me a bunch of questions, hyping up the stock and benefits. They weren't too keen on my past jobs, but I explained that my company sells products, not just consulting hours. After that, they set up a phone chat with the hiring manager for the next week. The manager made a comment about my experience with 'simple models', which I had to correct.

I attended a university employment info session. The next day, two MarkLogic software engineers interviewed me at my university's recruiting center. I heard back within two days and was offered an onsite interview. It took a week to get a VISA, then I flew to their California office for the onsite. It was a full day with six individual interviews, all technical. The last part involved six technical questions to answer in an hour. The whole process was super fast; I got the offer the day after my interview.
