Account Sales Representative
First you have a phone interview, then if you pass that the District Sales Manager will fly down to interview candidates. During the face to face interviews, you get about 45 minutes per candidate and the manager usually has at least five candidates. The manager wants to know if you are the right type of person for the job, are you trustworthy and can you actually have meaningful conversation with a customer or potential stranger and how your past experiences align with the job. If you pass all of that, then you have to show the recruiting manager that you can in fact do the job and you have to send in a video of you saying a few things dressed in business attire. After that, before you can go in the field and actually talk about the product/company that you are representing, you have to go through several modules to certify yourself in the company/product. You have to go through a series of tests and quizzes before you can get the certificates.
- Tell me about how you would handle an upset customer.
- Do you enjoy interacting with people and customers?
- What makes you want to pursue a role that involves direct customer engagement?
Sales Lead
So basically, they were trying to sell the job to me. It felt like a scam, like a "Payday Loan" type of thing.
- When can you start?
- We have high turnover?
- Do you like selling?
Sales Representative
I sent my resume to a recruiter that had a job posting on a website. I got a call really fast, literally within 30 minutes. I had a phone interview with the recruiter, answered a couple of questions online through an app, and I had an interview set up with the DM by the end of the Day. I had the interview the next day. It was pretty relaxed, but still felt professional. It was quite easy, and I was asked common interview questions. I was called about 45 minutes later by the recruiter, and he told me that the DM liked me, and he wanted to offer me the position. I applied and got the position within the first week of the month, took a drug test, completed verification of employment status, and did online training (unpaid) for the next two weeks, and then I was actually in the store and working on the last week of the month. I was in training for about four shifts, then got to work on my own.
- So, why Target Mobile?
- Tell me, why should we hire you?
- Could you tell me one strength you possess?
