First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marketing Management Analytics.
Manager
The process included 5 rounds. The first was a case round, and the rest were behavioral. After all the rounds, HR confirmed a potential offer over the phone and then ghosted. The company seems unreliable overall, with HR sometimes ghosting during or after the process. They should coordinate internally before contacting candidates.
- Tell me about your experience with case studies.
- Can you share examples of your behavioral experiences?
Vice President
The interview process was really long and kind of all over the place with no clear idea of how many rounds there would be. The management seemed really nice and all, but they never actually told me what they were looking for. After like 6 or 7 interviews with SVP, EVP, and CXO level people, and when I thought we were all on the same page about moving forward, they hit me with 'we're not sure if we even need this role anymore!' Seriously, they don't respect their own time but have no problem wasting mine.
- Can you discuss your previous experience and relevant skills?
Consultant
I was contacted by a recruiter, submitted my CV, and then had a couple of informal chats with an HR/Talent Acquisition person and the VP of the London office. These were more to help me learn about the company. Following that, I had four 45-minute calls with different people across the company, focusing on both analytical and client management aspects (covering US and London). These conversations were very pleasant. They inquired about my background and my reasons for seeking a new role. They also provided a short case study that wasn't overly challenging, even though I lacked prior experience in Marketing Analytics. I was able to develop a response and infer information from the context. A few days later, I received an attractive offer. However, I declined it due to receiving a counteroffer from my current employer that I didn't want to refuse. It was a difficult decision because everyone I interacted with was very nice.
- Could you tell me about yourself, your experience, and your motivation for applying?
- When retrieving data from DP, what's the initial step you'd take to evaluate its quality?
- What kinds of input variables would be relevant for measuring marketing effectiveness?
Analyst
I got an email from the recruiter for a quick 15-minute screening call, which went well. After that, I had my first 1:1 interview with a Director in Norwalk, CT. It was about 45 minutes and involved questions about my resume, Excel/Python for data management, stats, and a case scenario. Then, I moved on to the next round where I met with 4 senior people: the VP, SVP, Senior Director, and the Chief of HR for North America. These were all 1:1 for 30-45 minutes each and were virtual on Microsoft Teams, even though the role was for NYC and they were in Norwalk. The questions covered my resume, market research, a case scenario, personality, and situational/logical stuff. The whole process from the first call to the last interview took 9 days. I had to follow up twice and eventually got a rejection after 2 weeks. It's disappointing, but I understand it was a business decision.
- If a client is a copier paper manufacturer, how would you think about an approach to increase their annual sales by more than 30%?
- If you have $1 million as a budget for Television and Radio advertising and another million dollars for digital social media advertising, what would do to maximize marketing ROI?
- Why market research?
