First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Market Basket.
Cashier
The questions you get asked are all from a worksheet and they are super base-level. My interviewer was turned away from me the whole time π There wasn't any questions about me there was just things like "why is good customer service important?"
- Why is good customer service important?
- How do you handle upset customers?
Cashier
They are always accepting applications and hiring part-time people. I filled out an application at customer service and heard back a few weeks later. The interview was one-on-one with a manager, but a supervisor also joined in sometimes. They asked basic questions and made it obvious I would be hired. I filled out more paperwork, signed some things, and then scheduled my first training day.
- What makes you want to work at this particular place?
Cashier
First, I had to take this really long personality test that was written out. Then, I went in for an in-person interview where they asked me a bunch of questions about what I expect from the job. They also asked about my past experience working in grocery stores.
- What is your availability?
