First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mark's.
Sales Associate
So, back in 2019, I applied for a Sales Associate gig at Mark's in Burnaby, BC. The whole process was pretty quick and easy. I applied online, and then they emailed me for an in-person interview. I went in, and it was super short, like 15 minutes max, with the store manager. They asked me a couple of things to get a feel for my personality and future plans. Right after, they told me to do a background check, which felt like a good sign. Overall, it was a fast and to-the-point interview for a retail job.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What are your aspirations for the next five years?
Sales Associate
I recently went through an interview process at Mark's. It began with an initial phone screening, and then I had a more in-depth in-person interview where we talked about my past experience and skills. Since my role didn't involve any technical assessments, after the last interview, I got some feedback.
- Can you describe what constitutes good customer service?
Sales Associate
It was a casual interview, mostly behavioral questions, 10 to 20 people attended. The main idea was to see if you fit in with everyone. The company culture is outgoing, and they can be a bit forceful in encouraging you to approach all customers and offer help, even if it's clear the customer doesn't want to be bothered while shopping.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your future aspirations?
