I met with four attorneys, including members of the practice group and the managing partner. The whole interview was in person. It was a really nice conversation, and honestly, it felt like catching up with old friends, even though I knew two of them already from previous cases.

The process was pretty time consuming despite that they seemed so desperate to get someone hired. In their first contact, they set up a virtual interview, which was supposed to have the attorney on, but the attorney didn't show. All throughout this interview, I felt like I would say something about my work ethic and strengths and then they would ask me a question as if they weren't really listening. Then they set up a second virtual interview, which also had its setbacks--on their end, not mine. After that second interview they emailed asking me for references, which made me quite frustrated as to why they didn't ask for them weeks ago, before or after that first interview or first contact even. Finally, they called with an offer, but contingent upon them contacting my references. Why wait another two weeks to do that when they were sitting on that information already? That plus the fact that they were unable to give me detailed benefit information beyond a basic and redundant explanation about how nearly every health insurance plan works, plus the red flags about their lack of organization and poor communication I decided to decline their offer.

It was informal. They asked a few basic questions and wanted to know why I would be a good fit for their firm. They also asked how many hours I can bill weekly.

The interviews were all in person and with various people at the firm, and they were pretty easy to set up. I was told during the first interview that I would be doing a two-person job. The second interview was with the attorney who wanted to know my salary expectations instead of the other way around. I never got a rejection letter, but you could tell once they found out my salary expectations.
