Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maples Group.
Reporting Analyst
The interview process was straightforward and not overly technical, suitable for an entry-level role. There were two rounds: one with the direct manager and the second with a senior manager. Everyone was pleasant, but the offered salary was below market rate.
- Can you tell me about the applications or functions you've utilized in your previous roles?
Financial Reporting Analyst
Started with a call with the Recruiter. Then, R1 was an interview with Louv and Melrose where they asked technical questions, skill-based questions and discussed day-to-day tasks. Next was R2, a Tech Test which was a 40 mins Power Query task in Excel. R3 is where they will again ask technical questions, and this is where things get dirty. The management wants to know if you are willing to work overtime right away. Toxicity!!!
- Tell me about your experience with Power Query.
- How do you handle multitasking?
- Are you up for working on weekends?
Data Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward. It involved a video screening and then a video call with the Account Manager and the Supervisor. They were pretty chill, though one kept rolling their eyes, which was a bit of a turn-off.
- Can you tell me how you discovered our company?
- Please share details about your university experience, including any presentations, group work, and relevant coursework.
- How would you rate your proficiency with Excel?
