First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maples Group.
Fund Accountant
There were 2 rounds in total for this interview. The first step was a phone call with HR, and the last round was a Zoom interview. The people interviewing me were friendly and would smile while I was answering. After the interview, there was a follow-up call with HR.
- Please introduce yourself.
- What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you describe your understanding of funds and the fund accountant role?
Fund Accountant
I interviewed with 2 VPs. It was more of a discussion, they asked me technical and behavioural questions. They also asked about people management and checked if my experience fit the role.
- What is the effect of carried interest on NAV?
- Can you explain AIFMD reporting?
- Tell me about Call and Distribution notices.
Fund Accountant
Normal interview, but the process was ridiculously long. It's one thing when it's long, but it's another when you ask and they tell you it'll be a week. Very unprofessional to delay this way. It was one delay after another, for no apparent reason, and it wasn't communicated in the slightest. Just didn't hear back for a long time.
- Tell me about your academic background.
