So my application was rejected at first, but then they reached out again like two months later because they didn't have many applicants. I had a recruiter call and then, super fast, the next evening, I had a hiring manager interview. They scheduled it for the next evening so it worked with their time zone in the US. It was nice they reconsidered me, and I even got to the director level interview, but in the end, I didn't get the job.

The HR contact was difficult to reach. I was expecting to hear back by the date they gave me, but they never answered my emails or texts. Then, after two weeks, I got an automatic message saying I didn't get the job. Honestly, I don't mind not getting the role, but the HR person's communication style was really bad, especially since I told them upfront I had other applications in progress.

I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager at the main office. The hiring manager was very kind, which made it a nice experience. The interview was conducted in English and lasted for 1 hour. We discussed the role, the company values, Manulife's remuneration packages, and the exams and training required.
