Head of People and Talent
Applied online and was emailed by the recruiter to schedule time to interview. She no-showed at that time slot and didn't even reply to my follow up email until late that night, asking me to reschedule. I said yes and then never heard another word. I emailed the CEO directly and he must have pinger her because then I got an email from her saying she bulk emailed everyone but must have missed a few of us. Terrible. Sloppy. The CEO didn't even bother to reply to my message. I am very passionate about mental health and have experience at another mental health startup, but this place is clearly a disaster.
- Would Wednesday morning work for you?
Head of People
I applied online. The recruiter let me know she had over 3000 applicants and wanted to make sure she reviewed each one, which was really honest. My chat with the recruiter was great and made me more excited about the company and role. However, my next interview with the interim people leader didn't go well. She was late, kept cutting me off, and wasn't interested in learning about me. Her questions felt robotic, and she spent most of the time talking about herself and why I might not be a good fit. She even made some offensive comments. After that, I told the recruiter I didn't want to continue the process, which is a shame because she's allowed to interview people and gives HR a bad name.
- Can you share a detailed example of a project you finished?
PMHNP
It was a 2 step process. First I met with the hiring manager, and then with a fellow NP. Both interviews were pretty normal and somewhat conversational. The NP asked more questions about my clinical practice, while the hiring manager was trying to get a sense of my professional background.
- Tell me about your prescribing style.
- How do you approach collaboration practices?
- What's the most challenging diagnosis you've treated?
Licensed Mental Health Provider
I got an email to set up a video interview. The first video interview was about 60 minutes. They asked about my background, my qualifications, and what I was looking for. It seemed like a good interview and the person was very nice. They said if they liked me, they'd set up a second interview right away. The second interview was a clinical interview, also 60 minutes. It was with a counselor who worked there. He was reading questions from a paper. I could tell he wasn't that impressed with me from his facial expressions, and it made me feel a bit awkward during the interview. They asked about my experience with CBT interventions and crisis interventions. I asked him some questions about the company, and he told me to reach out to HR for more info. I sent a few emails after that, but didn't hear back. After about 3 weeks, I got a rejection email. It was a kind rejection, though. I was really interested in the job and think they could improve their approach to multiculturalism with students. It seems like a good project though!
- How would you handle a client experiencing a crisis?
- Can you describe a time you used a CBT intervention with a client?
- What's your experience like working with young adults or college students?
