It started with an email and a phone call from the recruiter, then an HR phone screen, followed by a phone interview with the team lead. The recruiter followed up via phone and email. There was no in-person contact until after I had signed the offer and noncompete (this was during Covid). What was really messed up is they never countersigned the offer and actually retracted it after an in-person meeting. They said it was to 'meet the client and get up to speed,' but it turned out to be a secret bonus interview. During this meeting, the client mentioned that my team lead often 'keeps prospective employees on ice' by delaying offer countersignatures. The client didn't ask many questions about my background, even though it was a good fit, but decided I wasn't excited enough about his project and lacked innovation. If I had known it was an interview, I would have been more enthusiastic and highlighted my skills. I thought this whole thing with delaying the countersignature and the deceptive meeting was really unprofessional.

It was quick and not intimidating at all. I went on one face to face interview. I was also referred by a current employee of the company so it made getting an interview easier I suppose. I would definitely work for the company again as all my co-workers were very pleasant
