Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ManpowerGroup.
Senior Manager
The interview process wasn't very structured. The last interview with the director was pretty bad, honestly. It felt like a lot of bragging about the company without much substance. There weren't any real questions asked, nor did I get clear answers about the role or the salary.
- Can you discuss your past experience?
- What is your current role?
- How does your background align with the requirements of this position?
Management Trainee
After submitting a cover letter and CV, you'll have an initial phone call with the recruiter. Then, you'll complete a personality and intelligence test via HFMtalentindex. Following this, you'll receive feedback on whether to also complete a motivation test and performance questionnaire. Next, there's a face-to-face meeting with the recruiter and a former trainee. Subsequently, an in-house day (which isn't selective) takes place, followed by an assessment game. Once you pass that, they conduct a reference check and schedule a 'chemistry meeting' with a management board member, leading to a final hiring interview. It's quite a few steps that take up a lot of (travel) time; you'll need to take several days off to participate in this process. I do question the predictive value of some questions asked during the face-to-face with the recruiter and ex-trainee.
- What is your motivation for ManpowerGroup?
- Tell me your reasons for wanting this traineeship.
- What are you passionate about?
Manager
The interview process is pretty straightforward. It's an in-person interview where they want to know about your previous work experience and your skills with specific tools. If you're really good with tools, they'll place you in a role where you can use them and contribute more, which usually pays better. If your skills are more on the labor side and less with tools, they'll find a site that needs that kind of work.
- Tell me about your previous labor work experience.
- This job is physically demanding; are you able to stand for extended periods while working on your feet all day?
