After submitting my application online, I was contacted to gauge my availability. I provided several time slots for the next two weeks, but received no response. When I called back, they would hang up instead of acknowledging their oversight. It's an odd way for such a large company to treat potential employees or customers.

I had a phone interview and then an onsite interview in Atlanta. A driver picked me up and took me to the hotel. The interview was with four directors/managers where they assessed my fit, skills, and experience. After the interviews, I was driven back to the airport. A few days later, the recruiter called with an offer. I tried to negotiate for more vacation days but was unsuccessful, however, I did get a better relocation benefit and a signing bonus.

First, recruiters or hiring managers will look at applications to see if candidates meet the basic requirements. Then, there's a preliminary phone or video interview to check if the candidate is a good fit, usually about their background, skills, and if they're interested. After that, it's a more detailed in-person or panel interview with several interviewers to check technical skills, experience, and if they'd fit the company culture. Some jobs also have tests to show abilities. The last interview is with top execs to make the final decision. Finally, they'll check references to confirm qualifications and past work. If all goes well, they'll give a job offer with pay, benefits, and start date.
