I interviewed at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur. It was going well, the interviewers was nice but they said that they have a freehair policy which I need to take off my hijab to work there. I said sorry but no. Not suprising at all because it's a 5-star hotel and in the middle of the city and have many tourists from all around the world.

It took longer than 3 weeks to get through the interview process. First, you meet with HR. Then, you meet with the Exec Chef, then the F&B Director, and maybe even the AGM or GM of the hotel. If you make it through all of that, you have to pass a drug test and a tasting.

The hiring process started with a lengthy online application on their website, which was manageable. It included various questions about my attitudes, qualifications, languages, and education. I felt the overall interview was quite long, but the questions themselves were straightforward to answer.
