First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mandarin Consulting.
Account Executive
The interview process at this company is truly disheartening and leaves much to be desired. I must caution against considering this company as a potential employer due to the toxic work environment it possesses. My experience during the interview was characterized by unprofessionalism, lack of transparency, and an overall negative atmosphere that left me feeling demoralized and disenchanted. Plus the interviewer is late and rude to me .
- Where are you from?
- Why do you want to stay in the UK?
Sales Account Executive
There were 3 rounds of interviews. The first was a phone interview with HR where they asked some job-related questions. The second round was with the Team Manager, who also asked some questions. The third round was with a Manager where they asked about company culture.
- What traits make someone successful in this position?
Account Executive
First, there was a survey where I had to record video answers to some questions. Then, I had an online interview on Teams, conducted in Mandarin. The interviewer seemed more focused on promoting their 'elite circle' idea than assessing my skills, and the job duties differed significantly from the posting. They offered a non-paid internship requiring sales targets, with commission-based pay. Visa sponsorship and official employment were contingent on hitting these targets. When I asked about my student visa's 20-hour work limit, they dismissed it as not a major issue. The whole setup felt questionable and potentially illegal.
- Do you prefer continuous growth and tackling challenges, or do you favor a stable way of life?
