Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Making Waves Academy.
Teacher
The interview was online and very brief. This happened a while back, so I'm not entirely sure how the process works now. The person who interviewed me has since left the company.
- How do you answer critiques of working at a charter?
Teacher
The interview process was smooth. I had one phone interview then a panel interview. The panel interview was very informative and I was able to ask current employees many questions. I also had enough time to answer and ask questions.
- Why are you interested in working at MWA?
- Can you share your experience with students from underserved communities?
Teacher
It was a really long interview process. There were several interviews, a tour of the campus, and other parts to it. The onboarding in the middle of the year was okay. There's a lot of small tasks that can easily push back your start date.
- Before the interview, you need to submit a lesson plan.
