Technical Coding Case

I applied using an employee referral, and the HR team got back to me quickly and were really helpful. They scheduled the interview for just 3 days later. This role was for someone experienced. The interview was scheduled for an hour, and about 40-45 minutes of it were just theory questions, which wasn't what I expected for an experienced role. After the theory, there was a coding question and a puzzle. They only asked 1-2 questions about testing, mostly Java-related. So, make sure your theory and definitions are solid. Overall, the interview experience was good, and the interviewer was supportive. My constructive feedback for the process is to focus more on logic, because anyone can memorize definitions, and implementation is easy to learn and fix, but logic and approach aren't things you can teach or find on Google when working on real projects.

First round was a face-to-face technical interview with some puzzles and a Fibonacci series programming question, plus some SQL questions. The second round was also technical, with the team manager, and was longer, including more puzzles and programming questions, an SQL query to get data from two tables, and a question about using the grep command in UNIX. The third round was with the director and was more general, asking 'Tell me about yourself'. The final round was an HR round, also general, asking 'Tell me about yourself'.

Technical Coding Behavioral

The first round was pretty straightforward, a junior person interviewed me and I passed. But the second round was different. The interviewer was upfront and explained that they have a tough process for QA automation roles and need people who can work like developers. They are really looking for candidates with extensive coding skills and aren't too concerned with manual testing. Their main focus is on candidates with deep knowledge of code coverage tools, such as Jacoco.

Confirmed questions7 questions
  • Tell me about yourself and your projects.
  • Write a program to find stocks with the highest profit based on the last 5 days of market data.
  • Can you solve these SQL queries?
