First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Major League Hacking.
Software Engineer Intern
They wanted a presentation showing off a project, and they'd ask questions about it. Also, they tested some language questions. Make sure the project has depths to it.
- Can you explain the architecture you used?
- How did you implement the x feature?
Software Engineer
For the Prep Internship, there were three interviews in total. The first one was about why you are interested in becoming a fellow. The second interview was to talk about your experience. In the third interview, you walk them through your code, and they might ask you a few questions about it. Each interview lasted about 15 minutes, and everyone was extremely nice.
- What motivates your interest in becoming a fellow?
- Could you share details about your technical background and career path?
- Can you explain the functionality of your code?
Software Developer
It was engaging, and I enjoyed the entire process. The interview had two phases, the behavioral interview and technical interview, each of them taking 15 minutes. The technical interview proceeded with a series of questions related to the applicant's niche, and the behavioral interview proceeded with questions about the individual in general.
- What motivates your desire to become an MLH fellow?
