Graduate Engineer Trainee
I submitted an application online via the company's career portal for the Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Planning position. The initial step involves a large-scale online examination. From what other applicants have shared, this is exclusively a technical assessment, with no general aptitude sections, concentrating on fundamental mechanical engineering subjects. Following the test, the anticipated subsequent steps include a Group Discussion (GD) and a final Technical/HR interview.
- Can you elaborate on your project planning abilities?
HR Specialist
I interviewed with the company twice, separated by several years. The interview experience was average and I rated it positively. However, in both cases, I didn't receive any feedback for weeks, even though the last interview was over 1 hour 30 minutes long! Disappointed with the timeline, I let them know I had pursued other opportunities.
- Tell me about your past experiences.
Document Controller
Initially they were slow, but after the technical interview, things moved very quickly. It's a shame that during the technical interview with the Line Manager, it wasn't a real interview but more like a lecture on the company's history, with no questions asked of the candidate. The role description was completely missing.
- What were my thoughts on international transfers.
Cost Controller
It's structured in 2 steps: First, a chat with HR. This is a typical get-to-know-you/motivational interview. It starts with you talking through your CV, then moves to why you picked this role and company. Second, a technical interview, usually with the hiring manager. They'll ask about and check your previous experience related to the job to see if your knowledge matches what the company expects. They also ask questions about common scenarios you might face at the company to check your problem-solving skills.
- What made you decide to look for a new company?
- Tell me about the factors that could affect costs from when an offer is made to when a project is secured.
- Can you share an example of why you decided to switch companies?
