First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MAHLE International.
Administrative Assistant
I first applied for the job and then the HR contacted me. The interview was relaxed, it started with questions about me, my studies and my experiences (even if few). They explained about the company, the job and the daily routine. They also asked about my working hours, my interest in learning and how I deal with teamwork. Overall, it was a very organized and respectful process, without pressure.
- What made you interested in this administrative role?
ML/AI Intern
It was a 2 round interview process. The first round was a CV screening that included a simple debugging programming question. The second interview was more in-depth, covering pandas and related concepts, and also involved building a linear regression model.
- Can you tell me about your Python programming skills?
- Do you have experience with Pandas and similar libraries?
- Can you explain how to build a linear regression model?
IT Trainee
Initially, I thought it was a lot of effort, and it was cool that they really tried to get to know me. But as the assessment center progressed, disappointment grew, and I realized what a waste of time it all was. There was no transparency about the specific type of person they were looking for and what the job actually entails. The people at the assessment center also seemed very unsure about who they were looking for. If I had known this information, I could have saved myself the whole day and preparation, as my very technical profile apparently doesn't fit the role, even though it was advertised as very technical. That doesn't show the recruiter's ability, in my opinion. I was also told on the day that if there had been a more technical position, they would have taken me immediately??? Unprofessional statements like 'I don't think you would do yourself a favor with this job' and the comment at the end of the day 'Your mood will be better tonight' (the opening match of the European Championship was that day) I found very impertinent.

Senior Accountant
Their hiring contact emailed me in response to my application to set up an interview. It was a very dull interview, and the HR person didn't turn her camera on, which made it feel unengaging. They didn't ask many questions about my background. They asked if I would be willing to work 15 hour/days on a mandatory basis for the first 10-12 days of the months, as it was a salary position. I didn't object to this. The hiring contact never got back to me with the interview results. I followed up 14 days later, and still no response. Overall, it was a very unprofessional and negative experience.
