Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Magna International.
Tooling Engineer
It was a simple process. First, there was a technical round, then a Manager Round, followed by an HR round. Salary discussions happen with the manager and HR team. The notice period is firm, and they expect you to join within 2 months. They gave a good package hike, so no more bargaining.
- Can you describe your experience with tool and die maintenance activities?
Mechanical Engineer
Had two interviews, one with HR and one with an Engineer. The HR person asked mostly personality and standard interview questions. The engineer asked technical questions related to my resume. The interviews took place at the Aurora location on Edward Street for the UofT PEY program. Both interviewers were really nice.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in working here?
- What information do you have about Magna?
- What is your typical role within a team setting?
Mechanical Engineer
I had a 10-minute in-person interview. The hiring manager and an HR person looked over my resume and asked a few things about what I'd done before. Then they asked why I wanted this job and why I applied to Magna.
- What made you want to apply for this job?
- What's your motivation for applying to this role?
- Why are you interested in Magna?
