Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Magellan Health.
Business Analyst
After applying, it took about two weeks to schedule the interview. The interview itself was about 30 minutes over the phone and was pretty easy-going. It started with typical interview questions but quickly turned conversational, focusing more on the job description and what they expected. The on-boarding process is very self-directed; you handle everything yourself. There's no HR involvement, and all communication happens through software.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experiences?
- What makes you want to leave your current position?
Systems Analyst
I had a panel interview with three supervisors. They mostly talked about the job duties and how the team works together. They asked me questions about my past and current jobs. It was a really chill interview, I didn't feel any pressure.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Business Analyst
I applied online and was contacted by HR for an initial call. The HR rep asked some basic questions during a brief 15-minute chat. They said they'd pass my info to the hiring manager, and if interested, they'd schedule an in-person interview. About a week later, the hiring manager called to set up the in-person interview, which was about an hour long and included behavioral questions plus some basics. They mentioned I'd hear back in about two weeks, with a potential second interview if they were still deciding. I followed up several times via email but never heard back.
- Can you interpret a drawing showing how to make ice cream as a representation of specifications?
