Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Magazine Luiza.
Cashier
The interviewer had multiple responsibilities and had to pause during the interview to attend to other tasks. Even though the position was specifically for a cashier, the main focus of the role was selling products and hitting sales targets.
- How would you go about achieving the monthly sales goal?
Store Assistant
It was great, they made me feel super comfortable. I opened up professionally and talked a bit about myself and how I intend to be and what to do in the future. I said I'm open to any proposal, whatever it may be, to help the company and to grow in my favor, encouraging people within the store.
- Tell me about yourself and what you plan to do in the future.
Store Assistant
I applied for the position through a partner website, completed a series of logical reasoning, Portuguese, and math tests, along with a personality and cultural fit test. A few days later, I got a call to schedule an interview with the manager and supervisor for the same day at the store I applied to, and they asked me to bring a resume with a photo. The interview was quick, they asked some questions about my personal and professional life, and finally, they asked me to simulate a card sale. They said they would contact me soon with feedback. A few days later, I received an email saying they wouldn't proceed with my application because I wasn't a good fit for the role, but they would keep my resume in their database.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your living situation?
- Imagine I'm a customer, persuade me to sign up for the store's credit card.
