First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Madison Square Garden.
Intern
The interview actually went pretty well! But I didn't hear back about my rejection from the program for months. I only found out after I nudged the hiring managers again for an update. This was after my interviewer had casually mentioned a few times that I was moving on to the next stage. It was a pretty odd process, and honestly, it didn't feel as professional as it could have been.
- Which department are you interested in working with during your internship at MSG Entertainment?
Intern
I applied for the fall internship and about three weeks later, I got a call from HR. I spoke with a very nice and professional woman who asked me some basic questions. Near the end, she mentioned that the positions weren't officially open yet but would be in two weeks. She said that after they open, they would contact me for a background check and drug testing and gave me her contact info. I felt pretty good about it, thinking I had a job lined up. But then, no call ever came, and my attempts to reach her were ignored.
- Tell me about your strengths and weaknesses.
- Let's go over your resume in detail.
Intern
They found my resume on Monster.com and gave me a call. I went to their office at 2 Penn Plaza for an interview. A coordinator was my first interviewer. Then, I had two phone interviews with two higher-ups. Lastly, I had a one-on-one interview in person with the VP of the department. The interviews were great, everyone was friendly and wanted me to succeed. The office on the 16th floor seemed like a relaxed place to work, with people wearing jeans.
- Are you more interested in working for an organization that provides employee training or one that hires people who are already trained?
- What do you envision your duties to be during this internship?
