First, I had a phone chat with the recruiter. Then there was a two-hour in-person interview with four team members. I felt like I did great in the interview and was sure I'd get the job because I had relevant industry experience and advanced education. I had to reach out after not hearing back by the promised date. About a month later, the recruiter called. I expected to hear about the next steps, but they said they were going with other candidates with more experience. Not sure if that was the real reason, since I met the job requirements. It was a good experience until I was left waiting and then got the news by phone. At least I wasn't ghosted.
