The interview was great! I was a bit tense before it started (my overthinking brain was acting up), but once we got going, I felt relaxed. I was given simple instructions and allowed to work independently. I appreciated being able to work in a way that best suits me.
- What factors influence your decision on the appropriate level of developer to assign to a client's hair?

The manager was really into himself. I ended up hearing more about his work history than about Madison Reed. I went in excited but left feeling uninspired. Trying to get a better feel for the Color Bar culture and job duties felt like pulling teeth. He basically just wanted someone to open and close the salon. For the technical part, as a colorist, he didn't ask me any questions about formulating, nor did he tell me anything about the Madison Reed color or products they use. You're tasked with showing a root-retouch and semi-application on a mannequin head and finishing with a blowdry.
- I wish he had asked me some questions!
- He seemed more focused on finding someone to open and close the salon than getting a candidate excited to work for Madison Reed.
Shift Leader
I'm not going to bother going into detail. There are several others who had the same experience as I did. For a company who is so proud of their culture, they seem to be unable to communicate "no". I am a professional and if you decide to go with another candidate you should be confident enough to reach out within 48 hours. Don't waste our time. No follow up on your end. No response when the candidate reaches out to you.
- Why did you choose Madison Reed?
