Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Madison Reed.
Colorist
The interview process was straightforward. We started with a one-way interview, then we were invited for a practical assessment where we could learn more about the company and determine if we were a good fit for the role.
- What is your understanding of Madison Reed?
Graphic Designer
The recruiter I spoke with was really nice and professional. But the hiring manager was very robotic, awkward, and judgy during the interview. This is a two-way street and she really turned me off, unfortunately. Not at all conversational, and she spoke to me like I was a child. She explained the obvious interview process to me as if I had never experienced an interview in my entire life (I’m 40). All of her questions seemed irrelevant and like she was reading from a list she had found on her first Google. Maybe it was just a clash of personalities, but that’s not the culture for me.
- Describe a situation where you received recognition for an accomplishment that was, in fact, a team effort.
Colorist
It went very well, I had an amazing recruiter, Desiree Fought. She was prompt to answer my emails, and her knowledge of licensing for the State of California and protocol was great. She walked me through every step of the hiring process, so I was never overwhelmed or discouraged. She is a spot-on recruiter. It starts with a resume, then a phone call, followed by a video conference with 2 great women from the Madison Reed Team, Rachel Thomas & Tephanie Bailey.
- What motivates your desire to become a Madison Reed colorist?
- Can you demonstrate your ability to be a team player, recognizing that all salon duties, like taking out the trash and folding towels, are shared responsibilities?
