Account Executive
They reply super fast after you submit your resume, calling and emailing quickly. Everyone in HR is really nice and easy to chat with. There are 3 interviews in total. The first one is quick (10 mins), basically just to see if you're a decent human. The second interview is the longest and most challenging one I've ever had, but I actually enjoyed it. They walk you through what a typical day looks like. The interview actually starts during the car ride to a retail spot where they're doing marketing for their campaign. When you get there, you'll do some tasks that take a good chunk of time to gauge your thought process and your potential to eventually manage your own office. You'll be there from 12 PM to 7 PM, and if things go well, you'll head back to the office for a final interview with the CEO, which is usually brief and is their go-ahead or pass decision.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- What information do you have on our company?
- Could you outline some business models?
Sales Coordinator
The whole interview process was only 2 steps long. I applied online and got an email within 24 hours to schedule an interview. When I got to the first interview, there were about 4 other people waiting, and it felt like a speed interview to check personalities, similar to a recruiter call. Later that day, I got a call for an in-the-field interview the next day. They didn't say how long it would be, just to be at their office at 11 AM. I got an email saying I'd be shadowing and going to client sites, and to dress professionally. I wore a suit and heels, which was a mistake. The next day, I met a rep and was told we were going to Walmart for the day, and I thought we'd be discussing marketing strategies. I was wrong. On the 45-minute drive to Walmart, I was told we'd be out until 8 PM. Nobody told me this beforehand. So I was stuck at Walmart for 9 hours in heels, and I heard from another employee that they rarely get lunch breaks. When the team started setting up their booth, I realized they wanted me to sell services on commission, which also wasn't disclosed. I declined to continue and took an Uber back to their office because I wasn't going to spend all day at Walmart. I would never recommend this company; the process was shady, and I had to wait at least 30 minutes past my appointment time for both interviews. I applied for a Sales Coordinator role, but ended up at Walmart selling services on commission, which was not discussed.
- What makes you a better candidate than others?
Account Executive
The interview was split into 3 parts. The first interview was pretty useless, asking things like "where do you see yourself in 5 years" and "what are your hobbies?" If they liked me enough, they brought me on for a second interview. Which wasn't really an interview, but more like a long day where a lower-ranking guy took me to Walmart and we had to "sell" COMCAST cable plans from 11 am to 7 pm. You don't get paid for this time. We were the only ones in business suits trying to sell something people didn't want or already had. I didn't even attend the 3rd interview because I found out there's no base pay, meaning if you don't sell, you don't get paid. This was a total dealbreaker. If you're not into selling or feeling like a used car salesman, don't bother. This job will make you lose confidence in marketing, even if you're desperate.
- Will you come to a second interview? Lunch will be provided?!
Management Trainee
Applied online, and got an email and call the next morning about setting up an interview. They were super pushy about getting a response - an hour after the first email they called to see if I would actually interview, then sent multiple confirmations to make sure I would actually show up. This pushiness really turned me off and felt like a red flag. When I got there, they were reluctant to give direct answers to my questions about the company, and I ended up declining the follow-up interview because something felt off.
