First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MAA.
Property Manager
It was a slow process. First, I met with the regional manager, then the next level manager. Communication was pretty good with them for the most part, though I had to push to get things moving. Finally, there was a third 'interview' which was a phone call from their main office where they asked some generic questions. At the end of that call, they said they don't have an ETA for any follow-up. This whole process had already taken at least a month by then. Then they just leave you hanging with no follow-up either way. Even before getting the position, you already feel like just a number.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- Could you share an example of a time when...?
Property Manager
The interview process was great. The property manager explained the company and the job requirements thoroughly. The interview took place while touring the property, which made it feel more relaxed. Overall, the process was smooth and informative. Even though I don't have direct experience in the apartment industry, I'm really interested in it.
- What's your approach to dealing with a resident who has an issue after the office has closed?
Property Manager
After applying, I had to take an aptitude test. Then, a recruiter wanted to do a zoom prescreen interview but had to reschedule. So, I ended up interviewing with the RM via video conference instead. While I think being in person would have been better and more natural, it was a good experience overall.
- In your own words, what constitutes an elevated resident experience?
