It took nine weeks from my first interview to get an answer. I spoke with EIGHT people on the team and did a two-hour sample work project, which I was promised compensation for, but haven't received yet. The process included an initial interview, then a first panel interview, followed by a second panel interview, and finally a last interview. There was a hiccup with the final interview because staff were out, or so I was told. It was initially planned for one person, but then two more from the first panel joined, and I had to prepare a pitch based on a brief. No mention of pay for this extra work was made. They also told me they were checking my references at this stage. After the pitch, they said I'd hear back the next week. Instead, they informed me I would be paid for the pitch and then proceeded to give me a different date each week for a final decision for a month. It felt like psychological warfare, and a process that started respectfully began to feel demeaning. They finally called to say they weren't hiring anyone for the role, which felt odd considering they'd strung me along for over two months and contacted my references. Some panel members even tried to add me on LinkedIn or sent encouraging emails. I feel completely blindsided and suspect it reflects the company culture and how they treat people.

Behavioral Other

The first part was a recruiter screening call. Then there was a 2.5-hour multi-part exercise which included writing a campaign memo and drafting a client email. A few days later, I got a generic rejection email without any feedback on the exercise. This was surprising given the company's stated values.

I put in my application online and then HR got in touch pretty fast for a phone screening, which I had the next week. That HR person was really hard to hear. After that, I got asked to do a skills assessment, which took me 2 hours to finish. The instructions for the assessment were super confusing. Then the following week, I had a panel interview with the supervisor and another peer. The supervisor was nice, but the other person was kind of rude and acted like they were better than me. They asked me a mix of hard questions like the skills test and really simple ones about email. I felt like it was a waste of time because I have way more experience than one of them and they asked me the same questions. It felt like they missed a chance to see what I could really do. The whole second interview was like a quick-fire Q&A, and they didn't bother to tell me about the job or why they like it there. It felt like a test, not an offer. A week later, I heard back that I didn't get the job. I also found out someone who used to be a bully to me works there, which is a relief to avoid, but it makes me wonder about the company culture. I really wish they had explained the job better and shown some interest in me.

Behavioral Technical

It began with a phone call with the hiring manager. This person sounded really bored and uninterested, like they were just reading a script and kept messing up. I felt like they'd rather be doing anything else and weren't engaged at all, maybe even eating at one point. They made some fake laughs and tried to act like they were listening. I emailed them afterward, and they replied saying they 'had a great time speaking' with me, which felt insincere. Then I was invited to do a skills assessment test. They seemed to not even review it because they quickly got back to me saying they were moving on with other candidates. Honestly, I wouldn't have taken the job anyway based on that experience.
