First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at LyondellBasell.
Engineer
It was a standard in-person interview. The questions were a bit tougher than I expected, but they gave me enough time to think and didn't rush me. Overall, I think it went pretty well.
- Can you tell me about a time you failed and what you did to bounce back?
Engineer
The interview process is quite rigorous, involving several stages. Initially, they reached out with some general questions. This was followed by a face-to-face interview with a manager. Then, there was a full-day assessment test that included other candidates. The final stage involved a business case presentation to all the managers and directors. All these steps were conducted in English. After these stages, HR would contact you to inform you about your suitability for the company. These interviews were highly professional and very stimulating, even though challenging.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your reasons for wanting to join LBY?
- Let's do a role-play exercise.
Engineering Co-Op
It was pretty to the point. He just asked basic behavioral questions. It was not anything out of the ordinary, so do not worry too much about it. The guy was also fairly nice. It was virtual.
- Can you describe a challenging technical problem you've encountered and how you resolved it?
