First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lyft.
Product Manager
So, the interview process started with an HR reach out. Then there was a product sense question round, followed by a product operation question round. From what I understand, if I had passed those first three stages, there would have been two more interview rounds. But, unfortunately, I didn't make it past those initial stages, lol.
- Can you walk me through how you would launch a car rental service globally?
Product Manager
It was a really seamless process, very smooth and well-organized. They designed it to be a good experience for everyone. First, you do an online application, which is super easy. Then, they screen your resume. You get emails pretty quickly about your status and what's next.
- Can you design an MVP for Lyft specifically for senior citizens?
- How would you design Lyft for commuters?
- What improvements would you suggest for Lyft?
Product Manager
Interview process: Recruiting phone screen followed by 2 virtual onsite interviews followed again by 2 further onsite interviews. Questions similar to what you can google, they use the same style as Uber and Facebook. Process overall was smooth, their recruiting is doing a decent job (compared to almost all other companies). Most interviewers were pleasant to talk to and personable with the exception of a woman who first showed up 5 minutes late without apologizing even with a single word and then went on to talk about how there are too many ex-Amazon white males (i.e. my exact) profile at Lyft already. Highly unprofessional.
- How would you design Lyft for commuters?
- Can you design a dashboard for a food delivery service?
- What is your approach to designing Lyft for large parties?
