First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lyft.
Customer Experience Specialist
I really liked the interview process! It was super thorough and it really helped me make sure Lyft was a good fit for ME as much as Lyft deciding if I was a good fit for THEM. I love that. It was a 3 part interview process. The first interview was a casual phone interview. The second interview was in a group where they did a presentation, broke us up and did mini interviews and then ended with a mock customer service email exercise. The last interview was a mock customer call and a one on one interview with the part-time team lead. Everyone was so kind and engaged in what I was saying. It felt more like getting to know your co-workers than an interview. I was surprised the interview process was that lengthy but I really enjoyed it.
- Can you tell me about your biggest accomplishment over the last year?
Customer Service Associate
I was in a group and we watched a presentation. Then, I was taken to a large room where current employees were sitting, two per table. The interviewers were assigned to tables with two employees each, identified by name. The entire process felt really rushed and, frankly, judgmental. It seemed like you needed to fit a certain 'image' for the role, and if you didn't project that image while speaking with only two employees out of the many present, you didn't get the job.
- Can you describe your worst experience with Lyft?
- How would you handle a customer who had a similar bad experience when they called you?
Customer Service Associate
I got an email asking me to complete a quick assessment on how I would handle a customer's issue. Following that, I attended a hiring event. We started by learning about the company, its values, and what they are seeking. Then, we spoke with two associates before moving to another room for a short phone role-play with another associate. A team lead then joined us and asked some basic interview questions.
- In three words, how would you describe your brand?
- What qualities do you seek in a job?
