First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lush.
Customer Service Associate
So first, we had this group meeting thing where you pair up with someone and demo products on each other, talking about them like you're a customer and an associate. Then you switch roles. They see how well you adapt and give you feedback. After that, it's like a trial shift – you work for about 1 to 1.5 hours (I did a Saturday). You help customers on the floor while the staff watch and guide you. Finally, you get a job offer email and an invite to the induction.

Customer Service Representative
So I was thrilled to have got an interview for Lush, when I turned up there were about 30 of us total. I really prepared for it and I was really excited at the thought of working within a company with the same values as my own. However we did not get asked even one question about us. We started with introducing a new random person we had met, then we did a supermarket sweep in groups of three and finally we did a role play in groups of five. It was fun, but if you were in a group that didn't work that well together that was it. We were told not to present the products in a certain way, then the group that actually acted it out in the way we wanted to was gratified. After that they said is there any questions, everyone was waiting for the section that they ask us questions so not many people actually asked questions, then they said thanks that is it bye! It's not that it wasn't fun it was just that they wanted people who were good at acting and not customer service. I know my local branch in particular gave a bad experience and not all will be that bad! I would recommend being really theatrical and remember to stand out as much as possible.

Customer Service Representative
We were split into groups of about five to eight people. Each group had five different tasks. First, we were shown a photo of a celebrity (I got Emma Stone) and asked to choose products we'd buy for them and explain why. Then, we were given random items, like string or bin finds, and had to sell them to the group. Next, we paired up and massaged each other's hands for a set time, keeping the conversation going the whole time. After that, we were given a Lush product and had three minutes to sell it and find out as much as possible about it. Finally, we all got together and the interviewers asked if we had any questions. It was fun but a bit intimidating. They're seeking unique individuals, and many candidates were overly confident and loud, which could be overpowering.
