Sales Representative
It started with a couple of phone screens, then a phone interview with the hiring manager. After that, it led to a face-to-face interview with the manager and a trainer. The interview was about a 3.5-hour drive, so I got there early. I had prepared a 30-60-90 day plan. The interview itself was pretty relaxed. I had great clinical and background experience, but unfortunately, due to a house fire and being out of the industry for 8 years, I didn't have the required documentation. I got the rejection email within 2 days.
- Can you describe a challenging situation you faced and how you handled it?
- Share an example of a time you significantly impacted a situation.
- Have you encountered any access issues, and how did you resolve them?
Sales Representative
So after the initial recruiter phone screening and a one-on-one phone interview, I had to go to a regional in-person interview where there were a bunch of other candidates. I met with 4 people in total over 2 hours: first an HR person, then a district sales manager from a different area, and then finally the hiring manager and her regional director for a face-to-face. It felt a little disorganized and the last interview with the hiring manager was cut short. The whole thing, from start to decision, took about 5 weeks.
- Were there any unique questions asked during the interview process?
- The main thing is to figure out the specific skills or personality the hiring manager wants and then see if you fit, right?
- In my situation, they really wanted to know if I could work on my own but also get along with teammates who might have overlapping responsibilities.
Sales
First a phone call, then I met the hiring manager face to face. The manager seemed to already have someone in mind. The interview felt like a formality for him to tick a box. He didn't seem invested in the hiring process.
- Tell me about a time you resolved a challenging situation.
