First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lunar Energy.
HR Operations Specialist
My interview with Lunar Energy was a good experience, especially for a startup. The recruiting process was efficient and gave me insight into the company culture. Some parts could be more structured, but that's typical for startups. Everyone was friendly and personal, making me feel comfortable. The process started with straightforward communication and flexible scheduling with the hiring team. The interviews were conversational. I had a recruiting screen, then a hiring manager screen, followed by interviews with other internal people, and a final round with the director. Everyone was transparent about the role. Even though startup timelines can be fluid, the recruiting team kept me updated and answered my questions.
- Can you describe an instance where you introduced new HR processes to enhance efficiency within your organization?
HR Operations Specialist
Applied online and got reached out to the next day for an interview. Joined the Google Meet and the recruiter had his camera off, no explanation given and no mention that I could also turn mine off. This was pretty frustrating because it takes time to look presentable for an interview, so I spent the entire call looking at myself talking to a black screen. The recruiter shared relevant info about the company and the interview was fine, but it was very clear they weren't really looking for an HR Ops Specialist, more like an HRBP/HR Manager because they don't have much of an HR presence onsite.
- Can you tell me about your experience filing immigration forms for employee visas?
Commercial Analyst
The interview process had 3 stages. First, there was an initial call with the People team at Lunar Energy to chat about the role, the company, and my work experience. Then, I had an interview with the line manager for the role and another manager I would work closely with. This part included both an interview and a presentation/Q&A based on a data analysis/visualisation task. They emailed me the task about a week before, which involved customer battery data and 4 questions to answer. Finally, there was a Director and SVP interview to check cultural fit.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Lunar Energy?

Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst
I applied through a job board and the hiring manager quickly got in touch to set up an intro. After the initial screen went well, I went through 5 interviews with team members, plus a couple of technical skill assessments. They shared useful info about the company and my potential role. The hiring manager was my main point of contact throughout. It did take two months from start to finish, which felt a bit long, but overall, I was happy with how it went.
- Can you elaborate on your financial modeling experience?
- Could you discuss your experience in presenting to senior management?
- How do you manage situations where priorities shift?
