I had to submit a 2-minute video answering "why Luminance AI" by Sunday evening, after receiving it Friday afternoon. There wasn't any screening call or human contact. I just had to send in a 2-minute video within 48 hours and then I got an automated rejection email. I asked for feedback but never got any and was totally ignored. This process is flawed because you can have all the right skills but get disqualified based on a 2-minute video for reasons you don't even know. Based on other reviews, it seems this has happened to others too. So, beware of companies that use automated processes instead of talking to people. It felt like a waste of my time.

I had 2/3 rounds. First, a phone screen with the recruiter. Then, the first round was problem-solving based, with one main problem that had multiple parts, making it about 5 mini-problems, which were fairly easy. After that, a phone screen with the hiring manager where I was asked a couple of basic behavioral questions. The final round was in-person and involved a troubleshooting problem that was somewhat challenging.

They asked for a 2-minute self-recorded video to answer generic questions about why I’m interested in Luminance and this role. This was sent late Friday afternoon with a deadline to submit by Sunday at noon, with no conversation, no context, no chance to speak to a real person first. They also asked for my university grades upfront, despite my deep experience, which shows a checkbox, junior-level approach that does not respect proven professionals. Researching employee reviews shows a clear pattern: long hours, chaotic management, high turnover, poor training, and pockets of tolerated toxic behavior. These are not signs of “fast growth.” They are red flags for limited career development because you will be grinding without strong mentors or stable leadership to learn from. It is just a job, not a career. If you are early career, you might gain raw execution experience for a short time, but you will also risk wasting hours that could have been spent learning how to be professional and growing under strong leaders. You may burn out fast with little real development and leave thinking this is how all businesses work. If you are seasoned and value mature leadership, clarity, and real career momentum, you will likely end up frustrated and stuck. I did not bother recording the video and stepped away.

Weird interview experience, ghosted like others mentioned in the reviews. I am not sure if the job I interviewed for actually exists. The person interviewing me did not tell me much about the role, seemed a bit rushed for time and was seemed to focus on why I wasn't already working for another company in the same industry (?). It was an interview where I did not feel welcome or valued for my experience, and I got the feeling that they might just be talking to candidates for jobs that either don't exist or that they aren't seriously hiring for. After this experience, reading negative reviews online about the company and how their promotions seem to favour a specific type of person, I decided I did not want to work there anyway. I was expecting some sort of feedback but I was completely ghosted after the interview anyway and never heard anything from them again, not even an email. I didn't bother to follow up either as I already had a bad impression by that point. As someone who has been in the legal industry for 10+ years, I have never been ghosted by a company before like this, it felt very unprofessional and disrespectful of a candidate's time. The legal tech industry is small, and reputation matters a lot, so it is telling to see so many similar reviews on here and I am overall glad that I will not be continuing discussions with this company.
